Which durian is humungous, is inedible and is spiky and harmless?

THE ESPLANADE!

What is the Singapore Esplanade?
Before we answer that, what is an esplanade?

A long open, level area for people to walk, usually close to a river or a large body of water.

You can see the river from here I guess?

Obviously, with wikipedia, you can find the definition. But to know the Singapore Esplanade, you'll probably have to ask a typical Singaporean.

What is the Singapore Esplanade?
To a Singaporean, its more of a broad building with spikes that seems to attract tourists because it's so chic. Not really. It really is a fantastic piece of art for Singapore as the Esplanade is constructed so gracefully with all that spikes puncturing the sophisticated atmosphere. Not that itself is anything simple.

Surprise !!!

Haven't see the inside of the Esplanade before, have you? Oh, you didn't know that the Esplanade has a concert hall of 1600 seats and a theatre with 2000 seats? The Esplanade is actually a classy building for the performing arts. Never judge a durian by its spikes.

Really, a picture speaks a thousand words. Let these few pictures create the Singapore Esplanade story for you.

Did you know?
The Esplanade of old actually occupies the former site "Satay Club", a popular food haunt for Singaporeans but has unfortunately been discontinued due to the building of the Esplanade.

Sigh~ Days of the old Satay Club was nice if you actually had eaten satay before. You can still check it out in Singapore though, it's still alive.

So, look out for our second episode where we've been to that is ..
